Matthew Spencer

About Matthew

Matthew worked in banking for fourteen years before moving into mortgages in 2019. He covers Marion County and the counties around it, mostly conventional and FHA, and he is also licensed in property insurance.

He is good with income that does not fit a simple pay stub and with families whose situation has changed. Clients ask him about the process and about cost, in that order. He walks through the process and then breaks the costs down line by line until they make sense to you.

He is from Kendallville in northeast Indiana and is married to his high school sweetheart of twenty years. They have seven children, two biological and five adopted, and have lived in the Indianapolis area for more than twenty years. His boys play basketball year round and his girls dance competitively.

One thing a bio will not tell you: if he does not know the answer he will say so, then go find it and come back to you.

Check this officer before you call

Every mortgage loan originator in the United States carries their own NMLS number, and so does the company they work for. Both are public, and both are listed on this page. Looking someone up takes under a minute and it is the single best habit a borrower can have — with us, and with anyone else you are talking to.

Company: CME Lending Group LLC, doing business as The Mortgage Exchange, NMLS #1248883. In Indiana, The Mortgage Exchange, LLC. Verify the company at NMLS Consumer Access, or see our full licensing table.

No rates, payments or quotes appear on this page, and that is deliberate. Anything you are told about a rate or a payment should come to you in writing on a Loan Estimate after you apply — not from a marketing page. If you want real numbers for your situation, that is exactly the conversation to have with the officer above.

A licensed loan officer reviews what you send and tells you where you stand, in writing. No cost, and no obligation to go further.
