Four things worth reading twice

In South Carolina we are a broker, not a lender

We arrange loans in South Carolina with a lending partner rather than funding them ourselves. Everywhere else in the table we are the lender. The South Carolina page says so plainly too.

In Indiana our trade name carries the LLC suffix

Indiana registers us as The Mortgage Exchange, LLC. Everywhere else it is The Mortgage Exchange. Same company either way: CME Lending Group LLC.

Four states record no separate license number

Colorado, New Jersey, South Carolina and Texas record our authority against our NMLS ID rather than issuing a state-specific number. That is how those states do it. It is not an omission on our part, and NMLS Consumer Access will confirm it.

Wisconsin holds two of our licenses

A banker license and a broker license, both current, which lets us either fund the loan or place it with a partner depending on what suits the file.

If you need to complain

Start with us — call the office handling your file, or the corporate line on our contact page. If that does not resolve it, every state regulator in the table above accepts consumer complaints directly, and you can find the right one for your state through NMLS Consumer Access. Texas borrowers have a specific route set out on the Texas complaint notice page.
