Financial privacy notice.

The notice financial institutions are required to give you about sharing your financial information.

Pending final form. The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act privacy notice follows a prescribed model form, and the version published here must be the one approved for our institution rather than a summary. It is with counsel and will be published in full before this site goes to production. The explanation below describes what that notice will say. For a copy today, email corporate@themortgageexchange.com.

Why you get this notice

Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing of their financial information, and requires financial institutions to tell you what they collect, what they share, and what you can do about it. That is what this notice is for. It is separate from our general privacy policy, which covers the website as well.

The shape of it

The notice sets out the categories of personal financial information we collect — things like income, account balances, credit history and transaction history — and then, for each reason an institution might share information, states whether we share for that reason and whether you can limit it.

Sharing for everyday business purposes such as processing your loan, reporting to credit bureaus, and complying with legal requirements cannot be limited. That is how the law works, and no lender can offer otherwise.
